Afro-fusion singer/songwriter Baaba J was the spotlight artist at a Spotify event in Accra that hosted the Vice President of the USA, Kamala Harris over the weekend. As part of the Vice President’s diplomatic visit to Ghana, she made a stop at Freedom Skate Park in Accra where she met members of the creative community in Accra.

Hosted at the Vibrate Spaces inside Freedom Skate Park, the Spotify event was a chance for Kamala Harris and other visiting U.S celebrities including Idris Elba and Sheryl Lee Ralph to interact with artists in Accra’s budding music and creative arts scene.
Artists in attendance included Amaarae, Black Sherif, Ansah and many others. The spotlight artists of the night, however was young talent Baaba J whose song was the soundtrack to which the US Vice President walked in. Baaba J is a unique Afrofusion artist who has gradually risen in the alternative music space in Ghana and caught the attention of many music industry stalwarts.

As part of the event, she gave the audience an exclusive listening session of her upcoming EP. Her music impressed the VP enough to make it on her Spotify Playlist dedicated to her African Trip.
